Hippophae rhamnoides is a large, deciduous shrub with grey-green leaves. It develops small, round, yellow to orange fruits, which are edible and high in Vitamin C. Three specimens were planted in 1973 along Heather Pond; one died during the winter of 2021-22 and was removed.
