Arbutus menziesii is an evergreen tree native to the Pacific coast from California to BC. It has peeling bark. It is often found with Garry oaks. Our specimens do not look very healthy. The tree needs more of a 'banana belt' climate to thrive, and it is hard to establish in a garden. Tree of the Month. More information.
