Common name: Garry oak (Canada), Oregon white oak (US), Oregon oak

Quercus garryana is an oak native to the Pacific Coast from California to BC. They are the centrepiece of a special ecosystem. The specimen in the Nativar Cultivar Garden (formerly a Garry Oak meadow) was planted by Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, in 2009.

If the tree burns, it can regenerate from its root system.
