Common name: Sargent's flowering cherry
Prunus sargentii 'Rancho' is a small deciduous flowering cherry tree in the Hon. David C. Lam Cherry Grove. It has a narrow canopy. Its leaves start out brown in early spring, turn green in summer and then red in autumn. The flowers are pink. It was named after Charles Sargent, the first director of the Arnold Arboretum in Boston.
