Ensete ventricosum 'Maurelii' is a beautiful, red-leafed banana used in our summer annual beds mixed in with Musa basjoo. Unlike the musa, however, it is not hardy here and spends the winter in the greenhouse. It is also quite a bit shorter than Musa basjoo. It is an herbaceous perennial.
