Lilium ‘Tabledance’
Orienpet lily (Lilium ‘Tabledance’) is an Oriental x Trumpet lily hybrid. These hybrids combine the best of the oriental and trumpet lilies - the beauty of the Oriental lily with the robustness, heat tolerance, and colours of the Trumpet lily.
L. ‘Tabledance’ is a huge herbaceous perennial that gets taller and sturdier each season. Some even grow to 3m/9ft. Showy pink buds open to large pink flowers that tower on sturdy stems. Nicely fragrant too without being overpowering. Since ‘Tabledance’ grows so tall, it is best planted in a place protected from strong winds. The bulb should not be lifted but left in the soil to bloom annually for many years. And the hummingbirds and butterflies will be there every year.
Lilium ‘Tabledance’ plants have been growing in the Woodland Garden in bed 25 since 2016. The pictures were taken in July.
