Common name: Voodoo lily, dragon arum
Dracunculus vulgaris is an herbaceous perennial plant native to the Balkans. Its maroon flower in June emits the smell of rotting meat to attract pollinators. The flower is followed by orange berries. It grows in the Mediterranean Garden just across the path at the north end of the Chilean Garden.
