Acer circinatum [Pacific Purple] = 'JFS - Purple', a cultivar of vine maple, is a multi-stemmed, upright, spreading shrub. The new spring leaves are bronze-green transitioning to deep purple in the heat of summer. In the fall the leaves turn to shades of orange-bronze before shedding. The fruit is a purple winged samara.
This cultivar was discovered by J. Frank Schmidt 111, a nurseryman in Boring, Oregon, U. S. A. It is a JFS introduction.
