Common name: California lilac, glory mat, Point Reyes creeper
Ceanothus gloriosus 'Point Reyes' is a shrubby broadleaf evergreen groundcover with dark leaves and blue-purple spring flowers. It is native to the Point Reyes area of California, but it is quite tender in our area further north. We planted nine in the Nativar Garden in 2021, but only one survived the winter.
