Common name: White forsythia
Abeliophyllum distichum is a deciduous, medium-sized shrub native to Korea. It bears tiny white, fragrant flowers in early spring and is a relative of the more common, yellow-flowered forsythia, both in the Olive family. It is sometimes a bit straggly. The cultivar 'Roseum' has very pale-pink flowers. We have many specimens in various parts of the Garden.
