Common name: Gum tree, eucalypt
Eucalyptus is a large genus of trees and shrubs (over 700 members), mostly found in Australia but grown widely all over the world as lumber and a source of essential oils. We have a revolving door of eucalypts growing at VanDusen. They are not very hardy in our area and have a high mortality rate. Garden Story.
