Common name: Doll's eyes, white baneberry
Actaea pachypoda f. pachypoda is a large perennial shade-lover with oval white berries in autumn that sport a dark dot, hence their common name. It has fine white flowers in spring, and the berries develop on thick pedicels, hence the species name 'pachypoda' from the Greek for 'thick foot.'
