Common name: English lavender
Lavandula angustifolia is a compact evergreen shrub native to the Mediterranean. It is very aromatic. It flowers in mid-summer, and flower colour ranges from pink to dark purple, depending on the cultivar. Our garden does not have ideal growing conditions (too damp and shady), so we replant them often.
Among the cultivars we have planted are L.angustifolia [Blue Scent] = 'Syngablusc', L. angustifolia 'Ellagance Purple', L. angustifolia 'Hidcote'.
