Common name: Bee balm, bergamot
Monarda 'Jacob Cline' is a tall herbaceous plant in the Perennial Border with bright, lipstick-red flowers blooming much of the summer. Its cousin, M. 'Colrain Red' in the Bentall Garden, has more purple in its red. It was discovered in Georgia and named for the son of a prominent Georgia plantsman.
