Common name: Carolina Silverbell
Halesia carolina is a small, deciduous, understory tree native to the American southeast. It has small, bell-shaped flowers in late spring and is found on the north edge of the Eastern North America Garden. The genus is named after the Reverend Stephen Hales (1677-1761), English scientist.
