Common name: Dwarf birch
Betula nana is a deciduous shrub or small tree native to the sub-polar Arctic and is contributing to the greening of the Arctic.
In our Garden you can find it on the south side of the Alpine Garden behind the blue juniper. It is a sprawling woody plant low to the ground. Most of the photos show the leaves enlarged. They are 5-12 mm (.2-.5 in) long and 5-16 mm (.2-.6 in) wide.
