Common name: Augustine's rhododendron, blue rhododendron
Rhododendron augustinii is a tall rhododendron native to China. It has large blue-purple flowers in early May and forms a wall of colour on the sides of the Sino-Himalayan Garden. It was collected in China by plant explorer Augustine Henry, hence the species name.
