Common name: Yulan magnolia, lily tree
Magnolia denudata is a deciduous tree native to China where it has been in cultivation for a thousand years. We have one specimen in Bed 124 across from the Waterfall, but you have to crane your neck to see the white flowers which only bloom at the top of the tree. It blooms in April before the leaves appear.
