Common name: Chinese hemlock
Tsuga forrestii, also known as T. chinensis var. forrestii, is native to China. It is an evergreen conifer with flat needles that have a faint white stripe on the back. Our one specimen is in Bed 126D. It is considered endangered in the wild due to overlogging. It is named after plant explorer George Forrest.
