Fagus sylvatica 'Pendula'
Common name: Weeping beech, European beech
Fagus sylvatica 'Pendula' was planted throughout the Garden in the 1970s. There are three overhanging the south entrance to the Perennial Garden. Another is a Harry Potteresque tree in Bed 139 next to the Great Lawn. Some of its twisted branches are inosculated.
