Rhododendron 'Nova Zembla' has dark, reddish-purple flowers. It was hybridized in 1902 by a Dutch nursery and named after an island in the Canadian Arctic. This rhodo was planted in 1973 along the Rhododendron Walk, probably from the Greig Collection.
