Symphyotrichum oblongifolium is a perennial flowering plant native to the central and eastern US. It used to be called Aster oblongifolia. It has lavender, daisy-like flowers in late summer and attracts butterflies. It is found in the garden across from the David Marshall sculptures north of the Plaza.
