Common name: Korean Spicebush
Viburnum carlesii 'Compactum' is a deciduous shrub, native to Korea. It has clusters of pinkish-white flowers, very fragrant, in spring, followed by berries. In our Garden they are bright red in October. It is named after W. R. Carles, an English plant collector who specialized in Korean plants.
It can be found in the bed across from the David Marshall sculptures.
