Common name: Kyushu azalea
Near the jade bench in the Meditation Garden is the Rhododendron kiusianum from Kyushu Island in Japan. It typically blooms in shades of purple, although in our garden it is a soft coral pink. It is delicate in appearance and lends itself to bonsai.
