Nandina domestica 'Woods Dwarf'is a small evergreen shrub that resembles bamboo. Its reddish foliage turns green and then becomes purplish in winter. White flowers bloom in summer, followed by red berries. The plants beside the pillars in the Meditation Garden suffered winter-kill in 2008-2009. They were cut back and have since regrown.
