Common names: California blackberry, trailing blackberry, California dewberry, Douglas berry, Pacific blackberry, Pacific dewberry
Rubus ursinus is our native blackberry and grows along the Pacific Coast from Baja to British Columbia. It is not listed in the PCR but is occasionally seen in parts of the Garden that are not maintained. However, it is overshadowed by the invasive R. armeniacus.
