Common name: Cardoon, artichoke thistle
Cynara cardunculus is one of the parents of the modern globe artichoke. In our Garden, we use it as a summer accent plant in the Perennial Garden and other spots. It grows to 2m, and its purple thistle flowers are quite beautiful. See also the Garden Story, Aug. 14, 2020.
