Rhododendron orbiculare subsp. orbiculare is a tall shrub in the Sino-Himalayan Garden which flowers in the spring. It was discovered by Père David in 1870 in Sichuan. The flowers are a dark pink, and the leaves are very round ('orbiculare' means 'disc-shaped) and shiny.
