Rhododendron (Biskra Group)
Rhododendron (Biskra Group) has waxy, bell-shaped red flowers and blooms in late spring. It was hybridized by Lionel de Rothschild in 1934. Biskra is the name of a city in Algeria where the Rothschilds went bird-watching, but it is not clear what the connection is with a plant whose parents came from the Himalayas.
