Common name: Welsh poppy
Papaver cambricum is also known as Meconopsis cambricum. Linnaeus originally classified it as Papaver, but later it was moved into the genus Meconopsis. However, a recent molecular study moved it back to Papaver, but not everyone accepts that. Whatever its true genus, its silky, bright yellow flowers brighten up our Woodland Garden (and elsewhere, as it easily self-sows).
