Common name: Brown New Zealand sedge, weeping brown sedge, mophead sedge
Carex flagellifera is a Southern Hemisphere cultivar with reddish-brown foliage which changes colour depending on whether it is grown in sun or shade.
Carex species are perennial grasses are true sedges, and there are over 2000 species. We have about 10 species and several cultivars.
