Common Name: Chinese walnut
Juglans cathayensis is sometimes known as J. mandshurica, but its flowers are different. It produces an edible nut. According to traditional Chinese medicine, the nut improves blood quality and nourishes the brain, heart and kidneys for a long life.
Juglans in the Latin word for 'walnut'. There is one northwest of the Meconopsis Dell and another in the Canadian Heritage Garden.
