Mahonia x media 'Charity' is a star of the winter garden, with its bright yellow sprays of small flowers. It is a large evergreen shrub, 3-4m (12-15 ft) with prickly, green leaves. The flowers are preceded by large sprays of blue berries in late summer which attract birds and butterflies.
