Common name: Giant white fawn lily
Erythronium oregonum is an early-flowering bulb native to the coastal mountain areas from BC south to northern California. It is one of the plants found in the Garry Oak ecosystem. The downward-facing flowers, which appear in early spring, are white with yellow or red at the bottom of the petals. The green leaves are mottled with brown, which makes them look like fawn fur, but they also stand upright, a bit like a fawn's ears.
