Common name: Sacred lotus
Nelumbo nucifera is native to flood plains and shallow bodies of water in Asia. The roots anchor in muddy soil, but the leaves float on the surface of the water, with the flowers blooming a few centimetres above. This is a seasonal plant in 2024, found in bed 126B.
